Join CCHM as we sit down with members of Vancouver's LGBTQIA+ community to discuss the community's challenges, experiences, and how life for the community has changed through the years. In our third conversation of the series, CCHM Outreach Manager, April Buzby (she/they), sits down with leaders from Summer of Pride, LaCenter's Gay-Straight Alliance, and Clark County Pride to discuss their own lives and experiences as leaders in their community.
It's a community take-over! For our June #CCHMuseum AfterHours, community partner, Summer of Pride Clark County, is taking over the museum for a Community art show. Members of the LGBTQIA+ community will be displaying their finished work and working on projects all evening.
2022 is the second year that the Clark County Historical Museum has hosted "The Amazing History Race." This race is more a scavenger hunt though, as teams of up to four people solve clues taking them throughout downtown and Vancouver's history. This is a family friendly event sure to be fun for everyone, whether you are an avid "hardcore historian" or a "history buff" who merely "dabbles" in history. And this year there is a new partner nonprofit, the Police Activities League of SW Washington. Thus when you sign up to compete you're not just supporting one amazing nonprofit, but two, doubling your impact!
Whether you are a history buff, love funerary art, or are just curious about the people who shaped this community, a visit to historic Old City Cemetery is a treat! Hear stories of the leaders and visionaries of Vancouver, learn about their struggles and triumphs in building a new life for their families, as we explore one of the city's earliest cemeteries.
Take a tour through the notable buildings and events in the history of Downtown Vancouver. Along the way, we’ll stop at historic downtown establishments and learn about their current offerings.
Haven't checked out the museum lately? This month is an Open House! No fuss, no admission. Just a chance wander the exhibits and see what's new.
Tickets purchased at the door.
