About the Clark County America 250 Committee

The Clark County America 250 Committee is a countywide collaboration focused on coordinating local participation in the United States’ 250th commemoration in 2026. The committee’s purpose is to connect organizations, share tools and resources, and help align community events and programs with the America 250 theme—so that Clark County’s unique stories are visible, accessible, and residents can engage in education and conversation around the ideals of our nation.

This committee is not intended to create new work for partners. Instead, it serves as a hub for communication and coordination, helping local organizations strengthen what they are already planning while identifying opportunities for collaboration, shared promotion, and community impact.

The committee brings together a broad cross-section of partners, including museums and historical societies, tribal partners and Indigenous Nations, libraries, schools and higher education, local governments, veterans and military organizations, arts and culture groups, nonprofits, and community organizations.

What This Committee Does

  • Share statewide America 250 resources, toolkits, and participation opportunities

  • Support partners in submitting events for regional promotion

  • Identify partnership opportunities and collaborative programming ideas

  • Maintain an inclusive, countywide network of organizations engaged in the commemoration

Meetings and Participation

The Clark County America 250 Committee meets monthly (in person with a virtual option). Participation is open to any organization, group, or community partner interested in supporting and promoting Clark County’s America 250 efforts.
