Something Lurks in Downtown Vancouver…
It has waited in silence, untouched by time, yet ever present.
There are histories which do not sleep. Tales not consigned to the gentle decay of memory, but instead bound to the marrow of the city—lingering like a specter in crumbling stone, whispering beneath the rusted hinges of long-forgotten doors, breathing still in alleyways where even the moon hesitates to cast its light.
This autumn, the Clark County Historical Museum beckons you to wander where daylight falters and the veil between what is and what was grows thin.
On select evenings in September and October, our guides—keepers of secrets half-remembered and half-dreamed—shall lead you along a path shaped by sorrow, regret, and the inexorable decay of time. You will walk beside absences: of lives, of justice, of peace. You will stand in places where the past has not passed on, but merely changed its shape.
These are not comforting tales, nor are they to be taken lightly. They possess an uncanny vitality, as though animated by the pain of those long departed. They pierce the heart with truths unbidden and unwelcome.

Proceeds support the museum’s sacred charge to gather and preserve the hidden chapters of Clark County’s story—along with the shadows that gather in their margins.
For some histories are not dead, but merely dormant.
And in the chill of autumn, they begin to stir.
